Day 21 - Pilgrims Become Tourist and Patients

Destination - Leon (again)
Distance - 0
Hours of walking - City strolling
Terrain - cobble stone streets
Weather - it's getting cooler
Nature - 0
Misadventure - Our new hotel makes you use your key to turn on the lights! A pigeon poops on Brenda's phone.

The Camino causes tough decisions. We had planned to take in the cathedral this morning and then walk to the next town. Our bodies were having none of that. Wendy and I woke up knowing things were not going as well as we hoped. We decided it was time for some physio. The good news is, we found a fantastic physio. He was very caring and thorough. He treated us, taped us up and gave us some tips. He said in a few days we will hopefully be better. The big concern was Wendy would further damage her hip with her feet being bad, but he said we were good to finish the Camino. We are so relieved.

Dee and I played tourist at the 14th century cathedral. It is beyond breathtaking. It is one for the first Gothic style cathedrals and the largest collection of stained glass in Europe. Our photos do not do it justice and I don't have the adjectives to describe it.

The Camino seems to put you in the right place at the right time. As we were finishing a coffee this morning, we ran into our Miami family. We arranged to meet for dinner and were joined by Patty and Jeanie.

Cheer of the day from Wendy - it was great to have a rest day and find a physio that spoke English very well. We loved the 790 year old building in which the clinic was situated.
