Day 8 - Happy Anniversary!

Sept 19
Destination - Vianna
Distance - 18 km
Hours of walking - Four hours
Terrain - a great even path, a couple ups and downs, and just a little highway
Weather - warm and a big blue sky
Nature - lots of grapes and olives
Misadventure - Safe and sound!

Through the pilgrim grapevine, we heard that our original destination for today was very busy and we would not get rooms. We opted for a shorter day of eighteen kilometres walking (opposed to the 30 we had planned). It turned out to be a great decision all round. The weather was hotter than we have had and Dee and I have both picked up the bug that is going around and are under the weather. The best part of the decision is staying in Vianna - a wonderful cozy town with great architecture.

The walk was a good one. The path quieter today and the scenery gorgeous. It reminded us of the badlands and approaching the Rockie maintains.

Who are those tall gals?

Beautiful church

Siesta time - quiet streets

Ruins from the old city

Cheer of the day from Wendy - the best part of the day was having some free time and sitting in the city square on comfy wicker chairs drinking tea with my best friend
