Misadventure - it's hard to get a cab on a Sunday morning. Who knew?
I neglected to mention that last night we shared an Alburgue room with Team International - our male group of friends from Quebec, USA, Brazil, and Italy. A nicer, kinder, more gentle set of men I have never met. They were remarkable to share space with - it was a relatively snore free night. When we were all tucked in our bunk beds, someone got the giggles, leading to eight very tired pilgrims laughing uncontrollably. Mike, our almost 68 year old American friend wisely stated 'it's good to fall asleep to laughter'. It is so true. When does one have the opportunity to laugh with friends and fall into a deep slumber?
Everyone has their own journey in life, and in the Camino it is the same. We have met many people that only have a few days to walk and then go home (to continue another time). We said goodbye to our Barcelona and Isreal friends today. Our Team International friends have different time schedules and maladies, so everyone woke up to a different plan. With our cold bugs and feet issues, the Three C's opted to cab to the other side of Lagrono, as walking through the big cities is very challenging. By the end of the day We decided that it was a good call.
Outside the city it was like a walk in the park. Very enjoyable and we saw lots of locals out for walks and bike rides.
After a walk, we hit wine country. It's harvest time and we got to see trucks and trucks of grapes. As we were looking, on farmer brought us some green grapes to sample. They were cold and sweet.
Cheer of the day from Wendy - there is not much in the world that can't be cured with two cold beer with people you love.
