As the three of us have been preparing for the Camino we have been so incredibly excited. There has not been a day in the past year that I have not thought about walking the Camino. I love to talk about it, but have tried not to 'bore family and friends' with incessant talk about it. However as we grow close to our departure, so many of you have wanted to let me know how excited and how much they care.
It has been a couple weeks of lunch dates, phone calls, text messages, porch parties; all have been filled with laughter, tears and lots of hugging. The tokens of support range from balloons, flowers, cards, rosary beads, money for celebratory brandy, maps and sharpies, and notes of encouragement. I am truly overwhelmed. I am so blessed to have gathered so many wonderful people in my life. Thank you for reminding me how rich I am. Thank you for reminding me that I will not be walking the Camino alone as I am taking all of you with me. As I find 'The Way' the light of your love and encouragement will light the path to The End of the Earth and then back home again.
