It was a crazy day! We made it to London Heathrow airport and then had to transfer to London Stanstead airport.... With little time to spare. One of the craziest airports I have seen. A long line up to check in and then through security (where Dee enjoyed a very complete pat down) resulted in very little time to spare to get to our boarding gate. If I ever get chosen for The Amazing Race, I choose Dee to be my partner. She navigated the crowds and twists and turns like a fierce warrior! Her blocking efforts got us to the front of the line to load the plane... And walk on the tarmack to get on the plane. It was a no frills flight but that didn't matter as we mostly slept through it.
Arrived in Barriatz to our cute hotel. A quick wash of two days travel grime lead us in search for some food.
We found a tapas restaurant and enjoyed out first glass of French wine with some amazing food. A smoked ham plate with amazing pate and bread. The winner was a stewed dish of squid, octopus and fish. Just what we needed after a crazy day - sitting by the river listening to music eating great food.
We also ran across the Blues Brothers!
Cheer of the day from Wendy- all the people who worked in the airports we visited in England and France were so friendly and happy. You could tell they made the best for their day and enjoyed making the travellers smile.
Train tickets for tomorrow are purchased and we wil head to St Jean for the start of our Camino on Saturday! We are weary but very content trackers tonight.
Buen Camino!

Enjoy Biarritz! It is such a beautiful and peaceful place! Gloria Chicoine
